EPI announces a world’s first range of ‘Certified Data Centre’ courses
Singapore, January 7, 2006 – EPI, a British origin company with its Asia-Pacific & Middle-East headquarters located in Singapore, announced today the release of a world’s first range of Certified Data Centre courses.
Data Centre’s are at the heart of any business. Downtime means lost revenue, opportunities and reputation. When the data centre stops, the business will come to a grinding halt. Data centres have also become more and more complex. The ever faster changing technology of the ICT infrastructure components is often stressing the data centre facility to its limit.
EPI conducts data centre audits & certifications on a regular basis and found that many data centres have hidden risks which could lead to unplanned downtime. Sometimes these risks are inherited in the design of the data centre itself and sometimes these risk have been introduced over time by changes in either the facilities itself or the technology it houses. Most of these issues could have been avoided if personnel involved with the data centre would have had access to the knowledge required to keep the facilities in tiptop shape and would have been able to understand the data centre requirements when new equipment and technologies are added.

For example, the introduction of blade servers has created immense power distribution and, more importantly, cooling challenges which gives most data centre managers plenty of headache.
With the release of this course, anybody involved in ensuring that the data centre is running efficiently and effectively will be able to gain the knowledge required to keep the data centre running at the highest availability possible. All aspects which influence the availability of the data centre will be explained and useful hints and tips will be provided by the trainers who perform audits of data centres on a regular basis having therefore built up an incredible amount of valuable practical experience.
There are three levels available for the certified data centre courses:

CDCS: Certified Data Centre Specialist |

CDCE: Certified Data Centre Expert |

All courses will be closed with an exam leading to a certification status. The CDCP course is available world-wide with the release in Asia-Pacific and the Middle-East starting on the 9th of January 2006, closely followed by Europe and the USA/Canada in February 06.
