Asset Management

The organization should maintain appropriate and accurate records for all assets under scope.

Where the organization is housing assets of customers, it should endeavor to record those assets where possible. However, where the organization has any obligation towards those assets such as insurance against damage, loss etc. then the organization should be required to record those assets.

The organization should maintain a list indicating which categories of assets are to be recorded (e.g. facility equipment, furniture, ICT-equipment, spares etc.). The asset list should include the physical location of the asset. Procedures should be in place to ensure that when an asset is moved from its current location to another location that the asset location is updated accordingly in the asset list.

All recorded assets, with the exception of consumables, should be part of the life cycle management process.
